The big news from the fall run ways is that black is back ladies! Most fashions designers were showing dark, somber shades in their designs. The
fall runways showed dark monochromatic ensembles. This is good news for we plus size ladies, dark colors mean we will be looking more svelte this fall. Large beaded necklaces in polished wood or stone and metal and wood bangle bracelets were used as accents. Embroidered ethnic tunics, shrugs and dramatic, ruffled white blouses are one of the new looks of the season. The empire waist is very popular in dresses and tops. Crochet used as accents and knitted into sweaters and shrugs was heavily shown. The pencil skirt is out - the dirndle skirt is in. Skirts are being shown at a becoming length, right at or slightly below the knee. Pants continue to be flat front with legs cut in the trouser or modified boot cut styles, also flattering to we plus size ladies. The handbags shown were heavily embellished with rivets, semi precious and faux stones and fringe. The most popular handbag shape is the hobo.
Are you ready for your Fall fashion shopping? Before you go out to shop it is essential that you take inventory of your wardrobe. This should be done every year. Keep all items of clothing that fit and flatter your figure as well as those pieces that are in your favorite colors that coordinate with other separates. Look all your items of clothing over closely, make repairs where necessary. Some of your more expensive items that you have stopped wearing may be sent to a consignment store, to recoup some of the cost. Most consignment stores will sell your item and give you 50% of the proceeds. If there are no consignment stores in your area check http://www.resale.net in order to locate consignment stores near you.
Group all like colored clothing together. This will make it easier for you to identify separates that could be worn together. Once you have properly organized your closet, you are ready to shop. Always shop with a list. Shopping with a list ensures that you will not bring home any pieces that catch your eye, but that do not go with anything else in your closet. Enjoy your Fall shopping!
